Who we are

The Mission

“Helping folks find ‘n follow Jesus along life's narrow trail.”

The Vision

“To be a church that not-church-folks love to come to, and church-folks love to bring ‘em to”.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Q.  What is Cowboy Church?

A.  Cowboy Church of Brenham is a group of folks who are helping folks find ‘n follow Jesus. We “do church” Cowboy Style, with Country & Western Music, get-to-the-point culturally relevant messages, and Arena Events, Dances, & other culturally relevant events. Cowboy Church is different than other churches on purpose. We consider ourselves partners with all other Bible-Believing churches; we just reach out to folks who maybe relate better to church–Cowboy Style! We are a church that “not-church-folks” love to come to!

Q. What do y’all believe?

A. While people come to check out church from many backgrounds and beliefs, they are all welcome to come hear what we as a church believe whether they do or not. The church as a body believes in The Bible, God, His Son Jesus, and following him. A full statement of faith is available to anyone who asks. Our Statement of faith is from the Baptist Faith & Message. What we believe most is that Jesus loves you and wants you to have a relationship with him!

Q. I like to get involved. What should I do?

A. There is a place for you! Cowboy Church does the work through Teams. Each of our teams welcome new folks. You do not have to be an official “member” of the church to check out or join a Team. Pick up the Teams Brochure at the Welcome Wagon in the foyer.

Q. How can I get to know folks and grow in my relationship with others and with the Lord?

A. A great way to connect is through a “Round Pen” Group. Round Pens are small groups of folks who get together regularly to get to know one another, maybe eat a bite, and apply the Bible to their lives. Information on our Round Pens is at the Round Pen Display in the foyer. Feel free to take one or several of the info cards on groups you might be interested in, and feel free to contact those leaders. They want to hear from you and welcome new folks warmly!

Q. How can I “Join the Church” officially?

A. At Cowboy Church of Brenham, you might be a guest the first time you come, but from now on we treat you like family! You are welcome to join in as you feel comfortable. Those who want to know more and perhaps consider ‘joining’ officially, attend Saddle Up Lunch on a Sunday right after church. At Saddle Up you ‘find out where the trail is headed’ before Saddling Up and Riding with Cowboy Church. At that time you can fill out a response card letting us know that you are ready to officially ‘join’.

Q. What, When and Where is Saddle Up Lunch?

A. Saddle Up is…Free Lunch, Free childcare, and the entire “lowdown” on Cowboy Church. In about the time it would take to go out to eat, or to fix it at home and clean up, you get Sunday Dinner right after church right at the church building. The date of the next Saddle Up is usually in the Sunday Bulletin. Use a response sheet from the bulletin to register; check Saddle Up, give your contact information and drop it in the Barrel.
